Eliot Dewitt

Eliot was born in Austin, Texas and moved to Collingswood, NJ when he was six years old. He has been fortunate enough to call Collingswood his home for most of his life and is a proud Zane North Elementary alum and a recent graduate of Collingswood High School.

Throughout the years, Eliot has always had a passion for politics, history, and American government. As a young boy, he spent his time watching World War II documentaries, presidential debates, State of the Unions, and the morning TV news before school. At twelve years old, he attended the Hillary Clinton rally on the eve of the 2016 election on Independence Mall, and at sixteen he volunteered for the Bernie Sanders campaign during the 2020 primaries. This fall, Eliot is excited to continue his political journey and will be starting school at Camden County College to study Political Science.

As a new member of the Collingswood Democratic Committee, Eliot is grateful for the opportunity to serve and give back to his community. He feels passionately about gun control and wants to help increase engagement and voter turnout among young people. In his free time, you can find Eliot fishing at Newton Creek, grabbing slices at Café Antonio’s, and spoiling his 11-year old cat Miss Kitty Soft Paws.
